lyrics
Leghorn Women standing on the square, they will
They'll make you lurk and they will make you stare
I'm telling ya, oh
Leghorn Women on the square
Leghorn Women standing in a line, they will
They’ll make you crazy, make you lose my mind
oh, baby well you look so fine
Leghorn Women basking by the sea
Make a dead man cum, make a grown man weep
I'm telling you boy
Ooooo
I don't know about, I've been told that the
Leghorn Women got the, finer jellyroll
You may wonder but it's, It's plain to see that the
Leghorn Women got a hold, they got a hold on me
I've done traveled, I've done been to school
But the Leghorn Women make me act a fool
I'm telling you boy, they're so calm and cool
ooo ooo ooo
Bless you Leghorn Women
Make me feel so fine
Make me lose my mind
ah yeah, ooooo
Bless you Leghorn Women
The best I've heard from Steve Earle in a while. The songs have a subtler, earthier tone, tastefully rendered in authentic sounding country/blues/bluegrass stylings. 'J.T' reminds of earlier records like 'Feel Alright' or 'Train a Comin'.
Deep grief, love and compassion is felt on the final track, the only composition from Steve, seemingly written for his son. The rest, composed by JT, do confirm what a great songwriter he really was. tideracer
Cerebral palsy curbed his ability to play guitar the conventional way, so Nagoda learned double slide, this is his debut LP.
